About Us

Brent is the founding and current President of Comprehensive Financial Planning Services Corp, est. in 1984. He was securities licensed during college in 1971, and has been an NASD General Securities Principal since 1987. During the first ten years after graduating with a B.S.E.E in 1973 from Valparaiso Technical Institute (also attending Valparaiso University and Indiana Purdue University in Indianapolis, IN.) he became a State Director for Financial Planning Services Corp. Brent received his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation from the College for Financial Planning in 1986. Brent was the founding President and then Chairman of the Institute for Financial Planners (ICFP) in Indiana in 1986. As board Chairman he was instrumental in the merger of the Indiana chapter of the International Association of Financial Planners (IAFP) and the ICFP into the (current) Financial Planning Association of Greater Indiana. He served full terms as President Elect, President, and Chairman of the Board. Brent serves as a board member for the Indiana Center for M.S. and also serves on the Finance Advisory Board for the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. Brent is active in his church and the community.

Ivy has over 24 years of experience in the securities industry. Mrs. Emerick received a BS Degree from the Philadelphia College of Bible in 1968. She worked with the Taylor University Dept of Financial Aid and the Family Estate Planning Institute in Annapolis, Maryland. From 1984 to 1990 she was Account Executive Vice President for Circle Financial Planning DBA Money Concepts. In 1990 she earned her CFP® Certified Financial Planner designation. Ivy has been Director of Investment Services since 1990 with Comprehensive Financial Planning Services, Corp. Ivy has served in the mission field for her church in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and Hong Kong. She has also served as Secretary for the Central Indiana Youth for Christ Board of Directors.

Walt earned his BS Degree from Texas A & M University. He earned an MBA from Golden Gate University. He retired as a Colonel in the United States Army after 25 years of active service in 1986. He began a new career as a life insurance agent in 1986 in New Castle, Indiana. He received his LUTCF designation during this time. He is still life and health insurance licensed in Indiana. He joined Comprehensive Financial Planning Services Corp in 1988. He earned his CFP® Certified Financial Planning designation in 1991. Walt is a trained income tax practioner and has prepared individual and small business tax returns since 1992. He is an Enrolled Agent with the IRS, which allows him to represent clients before that body should the need arise. Walt is a past secretary for the Greater Indiana Financial Planning Association and is a member of the National Association of Tax Practioners. He is active in his church, where he has served on the church council. Walt has been a past president of the Breakfast Optimist Club of Indianapolis and a past Lieutenant Governor of the Indiana South District of Optimist International. Walt is an avid fitness enthusiast has run 38 marathons in 27 states.

Prior to joining Comprehensive Financial Planning Services Corp., Annette coordinated twelve teachers and the school activities for over 120 attendees at Mount Zion Day Care. Annette also handled all of the state program book keeping for the center. She continued her work in early childhood education at Holy Angels Catholic School. Annette became part of our team as the office secretary in 2003. She earned her recent promotion to Operations Manager through the continued development of her professional skills during her five years with the firm. Annette is currently pursuing her Bachelors degree in business administration at Indiana Wesleyan University. She is actively engaged in volunteering in the Lawrence school system.
